“A Rally of Writers: the best one day writing conference in Michigan that no one’s heard of!”
Held every spring for the past 33 years in Lansing, Michigan, A Rally of Writers features (up to) 16 sessions of Michigan writers, poets, teachers, editors and publishers discussing every aspect of writing and the publishing business. Choose among four sessions that run simultaneously. View and download past brochures on the Archives menu tab.
For the past few years the venue has been the Lansing Community College West Campus Conference Center at LCC’s West Campus in Delta Township (map), west of downtown Lansing. Parking is free and virtually unlimited. A buffet lunch is optional at extra cost; lunch seating is limited. The nearest restaurants are less than two miles away (see the map link above and search “nearby”), but attendees are welcome to bring their own sack lunches; LCC has a large cafeteria seating area immediately adjacent to the conference area, but the cafeteria is closed on weekends. Several vending machines are close by. Read the official LCC policy on carrying concealed weapons here.
Rally attendees looking for hotel accommodations in the area are invited to check out Country Inn and Suites of Lansing. Located at the interchange of I-496 and Creyts Road, within a couple miles of LCC West Campus, Country Inn offers a discount to Rally of Writers people. Call 517.827.7000 and ask for the Rally Code rate.
The committee of A Rally of Writers is grateful for the support of:
The Michigan Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities
And all the presenters, past, present and future, and all the guests who ever attended. Live long and write!
For more information, or to get on an email mailing list, write to Mark at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and address. (FYI: official replies will come from our mailing address email@example.com.) We take online registrations with PayPal or personal checks by USPS mail. Personal checks and credit cards accepted at the door; credit cards are accepted through PayPal. We don’t provide confirmation of mail-in registration. However, I do confirm online PayPal registrations, and I will respond to all email inquiries as quickly as possible. (I have to clear out at least 100 spam emails every week, so please be patient with me!) If you send us a check and registration form, you’re in. If we have space, we take late registration at the door. However, if Rally is booked to capacity in advance, your money will be refunded and we will post the closing here as soon as possible.
We are a small organization of volunteers. We continue to work diligently to solve any issues.
